2007, #143 (1410) Speaking at a July 25 government session in Kakheti, President Mikheil Saakashvili lauded increased egg production in the country. The president said that two years ago, less than 30 percent of eggs used in the country were domestically produced. Now Georgia exports eggs, including 20 000 boxes of eggs worth USD 150 000 to Iraq every month, writes the news agency Regnum. “This is a good beginning,” said the president. Egg production dropped two years ago amid avian flu worries. |
