the second place in the qualification group "B," Georgia is
sixth place. The next match will be held with the combined team of the
Ukraine on September 8.

Akhaltsikhe regional court gave a two-month pre-trial detention to the head of the Samtskhe-Javakheti regional department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, David Nozadze. David Nozadze is accused of abusing his position. He has been dismissed from his post. The preliminary investigation found that David Nozadze illegally granted licenses for use of natural resources. In 2001-2004 years he allegedly granted 19 illegal licenses. As a result, the value of natural resources illegally exploited amounted to about GEL 928 000. At present the
case is being investigated to expose other possible crimes committed
by Nozadze and to find other alleged lawbreakers in the regional department
of Samtskhe-Javakheti.
Members of the society Georgian Academy and Paata Davitaia, leader of the political movement We, Ourselves, talked over the conflict in Abkhazia at a meeting on Monday. Georgian Academy representatives said there's been no progress towards resolution. Members of the society give a negative evaluation of the Georgian government's attitude towards IDPs from Abkhazia, accusing the government of ignoring their social problems. Georgian Academy
was founded early in 2007. The society is comprised of Georgian intelligentsia.
Acting on a tip-off, Georgian border guards from the Batumi Border Police Operative Investigation and Intelligence Division detained a person suspected in migrant smuggling over the border at the Sarpi checkpoint with Turkey. The detained Turkish
citizen was allegedly attempting to smuggle a citizen of Kyrgyzstan
to Turkey by hiding him in his car. Conservatives demand information on Robakidze murder The Conservative Party demanded that the Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office present information about the investigation into the charges of forgery in the murder case of 19-year-old Amiran Robakidze. Kakha Kukava, a Conservative Party leader, stated at a press conference on Monday that the party applied to the Prosecutor's Office with questions about investigation, which they say has been fruitless. If the Prosecutor's Office doesn't answer, Kukava said, the issue will come up in parliament debates in the autumn session. Amiran Robakidze
