In 2008, 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be extracted from Azerbaijan’s major Shah Deniz gas field, the Azerbaijani state oil company announced. Latest estimations put the total amount of Shah Deniz gas reserves at 1.2 trillion cubic meters, according to the news agency Regnum. Currently three wells are working on Shah Deniz, and another 1.2 billion cubic meters will be extracted by the end of this year.
