This spring, the 11th annual Best Press Photo of Russia competition honored Tbilisi-based photographer Alexander Klimchuk.

54 photographers from CIS countries and the Baltics competed.

The jury gave Klimchuk an honorary award for his coverage of the violent November 7 crackdown on anti-government protestors

Last year, the same competition honored Klimchuk for his photos of celebrations of Joseph Stalin’s birthday.

Klimchuk is the head of Tbilisi-based photo agency Caucasus Images (http://www.caucasus-images.com), which offers news and feature photography.
