The Turkish-Armenian Council for Business Development has announced that if normal relations are established between these two countries and the borders are opened bilateral trade turnover will increase to USD 300-400 million annually. The opening of the border will be beneficial for Eastern Turkey in particular, but ultimately for those living on both sides of the border.
This opening of the border will also facilitate the reopening of the Kars-Gumri railway line, which will further increase the turnover between the two countries.
