German Days in South Caucasus 2009

The German Days in South Caucasus 2009 have been officially opened in Tbilisi. As part of this cultural programme German pop group Dyko gave a concert in Vake Park.
The German Embassy to Georgia and the Goethe Institute plan to host different events which will take place throughout the year. Concerts, exhibitions, symposiums and other activities will cover topics such as the German Bundestag elections in 2009 and the 20th anniversary of the destruction of the Berlin Wall.
The German Days will be simultaneously held in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. They are supported by the German Foreign Ministry, the German Embassies in these countries and the Goethe Institute. The German side highlights its intention of further increasing interest in Germany among young people and stimulating intellectual cooperation between Germany the various South Caucasus countries.
