The Georgian citrus harvest has been almost completely gathered and more than 65,000 tonnes of citrus fruit have been exported to Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kuwait and some other countries. More than 6,000 tonnes have been sold on the domestic market.

According to preliminary estimates Georgia has produced 125,000 tonnes of citrus fruit this year. The harvest will continue until January in some places. Officials think that harvest is proceeding in an organised manner and the farmers have no problem processing their fruit as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Adjara regional administration are working efficiently on this.
