Holiday Inn has been constructing a new hotel in the centre of Tbilisi where formerly the Hotel Adjara was located. Consisting of 316 rooms and a high class infrastructure it is designed for holiday makers as well as businessmen. Construction of the hotel began back in 2007 but as a result of the world economic crisis and Russian invasion, work stopped for over a year. It is now known that Bank of Georgia has allotted nearly USD 13 million for the project to be completed – for the construction work to be finished and the hotel to be fully equipped. The loan term envisages the hotel operating successfully. Tbilisi's Holiday Inn, as part of the Intercontinental hotel group will contribute to the development of Georgia's tourist infrastructure.
