Grant Melik-Shahnazarian, analyst from Mitki thinks that if military clashes start in Karabakh and last for some time the results for both countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan will be grave and the region will become an arena for a NATO-Russia confrontation. He also thinks that if a military confrontation occurs there will be huge financial, technical and above all human losses. The analyst considers that now, the concept of the security zone has lost its meaning as both sides today possess the technical means to hit a target from a distance of up to 200-300 km and both sides can afford it. The analyst also believes that if the conflict resumes then Armenia should lead the attack and not simply follow defensive tactics.
