Iran-Ukraine gas cooperation

Iran’s Ambassador to Ukraine thinks that it is quite realistic for Iran to supply Ukraine with natural gas that could then eventually be transported into Europe. There are various routes for transporting Iranian gas to Ukraine – i.e. via Turkey, Georgia, Iraq and Syria. Technical issues need to be assessed by experts. Meanwhile Venezuela might start supplying oil to Belarus and Ukraine, however there is a big different between transporting energy from Iran to the Black Sea ports of Ukraine and Venezuela oil to the same destination. Iran has already constructed a gas pipeline to Armenia and it could be extended further to Georgia. And as soon as this pipeline reaches Batumi, it will be realistic for gas to be exported to Ukraine.
