Jondi Baghaturia Demands to Hold Governmental Hour in Parliament

Leader of opposition party Georgian Troupe and Jondi Baghaturia is demanding to hold a governmental hour in Parliament, 24 Hours reports.

As Jondi Baghaturia stated at a plenary session of Parliament held on November 24, the government has refused to hold the governmental hour in Parliament three times. As for him, his demand concerns the discussion on the issues of pensioners and the impoverished population of the country.

Parliament chairman David Bakradze reminded Jondi Baghaturia that the plenary session of the parliament was not planned for today and, even though it is the last Thursday of the month the governmental hour will not be held.



6 Directors and 7 Accountants of Kindergartens Detained in Kutaisi

As a result of operative activities conducted by the Constitutional Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, six directors and seven accountants of different nursery schools located in Kutaisi, Imereti region, were detained, 24 Hours reports.

The arrested persons were allegedly involved in corrupt dealings with entrepreneurs and thus, illegally appropriated extremely large amounts of cash allocated by the government to cover the costs of food products for the children.

In the course of investigation it was established that the detainees acted in accordance with the mentioned criminal scheme for the past two years, therefore up to 2 million GEL was illegally appropriated from the state budget.

The committed crime carries a sentence of up to 10 years of imprisonment. The investigation is being conducted by the Constitutional Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
