Computers for Schoolchildren with Special Needs

On February 7 Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Tbilisi Public School ¹198 and presented portable computers to all second graders of the school. Minister made this decision on February 3 after visiting the new building of the school.

Tbilisi Public School ¹198 is for the schoolchildren with special education needs. The children with different diagnosis such as cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome study at the school. The kids with such diseases suffer from problems with speaking and writing. Modern technologies are very effective in solving such problems.

The school has the special IT classroom where schoolchildren have all conditions to take adapted IT lessons. Most of the schoolchildren are from the socially vulnerable families and they don’t have the chance to practice informatics after the classes. The minister presented these schoolchildren with portable computers so that they can master their skills at home.
