Come to Georgia - new magazine for tourists

Publishing of a new magazine for tourists is underway in Georgia. Come to Georgia is intended to become a new visit card for the country, as it will provide detailed information about country`s tourist infrastructure, tours, sightseeing and other places, which will be of interest to visitors. The magazine is bilingual, printed in Georgian and English languages.

The editors say the magazine will unify the function of a cognitive and tourist guide. The magazine will be free for visitors, who will be able to pick it up at various information centers, airports and hotels. The main partner of the editorial staff is the Agency of Tourism of Georgia. (Interpressnews)



Gilauri meets with Singaporean president and PM

Georgia`s Prime Minister has held a meeting with the Singaporean President Sellapan Ramanathan. At the meeting, deepening of Georgia-Singapore relations, coordinated cooperation in the international organizations and economic reforms were discussed.

Within the official visit, meetings with investors, who are interested in investing in Georgia are also scheduled.

Russia felt its strength in ‘difficult developments’ in 2008, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a press conference on 18 May when he was asked about his Presidential performance.

According to Medvdev, during that period Russia managed to ‘realize the exact foreign policy that facilitated regulation of tense relations with several states’.

‘At the same time we managed to defend ourselves. I mean developments in 2008. It was very important for our country that we were able to defend our independence and sovereignty’, Medvedev said. (Interpressnews)



Okruashvili visits Moscow

After the visits of two Georgian opposition leaders Zurab Noghaideli and Nino Burjanadze to Moscow, fugitive Georgian politician Irakli Okruashvili will be the next to hold secret negotiations in the Russian capital.

So-called South Ossetian delegation planning visit to Israel

The so-called South Ossetian delegation is planning a visit to Israel, Res news agency reports.

The delegation members will meet journalists and businessmen as well as representatives of the Ossetian Diaspora.

The delegation will include the editor-in-chief of the Iuzhnaia Osetia newspaper and the head of the house of the de-facto government.

Joint journalistic projects will be carried out at the meeting with journalists, while the investment climate of the de-facto republic will be discussed at a meeting with businessmen. (Interpressnews)



Footballers clash during Kolkheti vs. Baia

Yet another shameful incident occurred during a football match in Georgia - coaches and referees were involved in a clash between footballers during the Poti Kolkheti vs. Zugdidi Baia match in Poti on Wednesday. The hosts accused the guests of wasting time to maintain a 1:1 scoreline at the end of the first half. The game was suspended due to the complaints of the hosts, who scored another goal after the referee resumed the match. The success of the hosts irked the guests and the dispute grew into a violent clash on the stadium.
