Saakashvili met Chairman of the Polish Seim

The Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with Grzegorz Schetyna, Chairman of the Polish Seim at the Presdiential residence on June 21.

As The Georgian President’s administration said, the deepening of friendly and bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.

Grzegorz Schetyna said Georgia would enjoy the active support of Poland in the process of euro-integration during Poland’s chairmanship in the EU. He said Poland would continue to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. President’s administration said that Poland, which takes over EU’s rotating presidency from July, would be Georgia’s “active supporter” in the process of integration to the EU.

On June 20, the speaker of the Polish Parliament met with his Georgian counterpart, Davit Bakradze, who described Poland as Georgia’s “biggest supporter in Europe”. He said that relations between the two countries “are exemplary.”
