Selling of fasting products slightly increased

Rezonansi writes that as the Christmas Fast began, the sale of fasting products increased but not by very much. The traders of fasting products are not happy with the number of products sold. The number of sales on meat and fish has also decreased however the price is the same and not decreased.

Fasting products' price increased as demand increased. The price on vegetables, corn, fasting cakes all increased significantly.



Company “Sarajishvili” not Informed about Talks with Russia

Director General of the Company “Sarajishvili” Elguja Bubuteishvili alleges that it was not his company, but a distribution firm, that holds negotiations on returning products to the Russian market, 24 Hours reports.

“We have signed an agreement with one of the American distribution companies that carries out negotiations with several countries regarding selling “Sarajishvili” cognac. I don’t know which countries they are negotiating with”, Bubuteishvili said.

He said he doesn’t know, whether Russian experts plan to arrive in Georgia.

Russian agencies report that Russian “Rospotrebnadzor” (the federal service on customers’ fights protection and human well-being monitoring) confirmed information about its readiness to send experts to Georgia.

“Interfax” reports that Russia’s chief sanitary doctor Genady Onishenko mentioned this. He said that specialists will visit the company “Sarajishvili” that produces cognac. Onishenko reports that seven Georgian companies plan to export products for the Russian market.
