South Caucasus economic integration problems

Because of the lasting Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the south Caucasus is unable to achieve a closer economic union. The trade turnover between the three countries is almost entire made up of trade between Georgia and Azerbaijan, and Georgia and Armenia. Georgia’s main export item to both nations is re-exported cars from Europe, the U.S. and Japan.
