According to official statistics from the Adjaran Ministry of Agriculture the citrus harvest in the region has been completed. Georgian citruses are exported to Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan and almost 40,000 tones are expected to be exported to those countries this year. Only those tangerines that meet international standards are exported while the remainder are sent to factories in Kobuleti where they are made into juice and jam. It is expected that by the end of 2014 the tangerine harvest will become much better organized through the creation of a streamlined process of storage facilities and factories.
