Electricity and garbage fee separate again

Liberali reports that MP Tina Khidasheli’s amendment on separating electricity and garbage fees was adopted on the third hearing with 90-1. The changes were made to the law in the capital of Georgia – Tbilisi and the law on Local Fees. The proposed changes initiated by Khidasheli envisage that the amount of garbage consumption should not be defined based on electricity consumed per month. The fixed fee on garbage will be GEL 3 per person, while for legal entities – no more than GEL 25 per 1 cubic meter. Moreover, the law will define that the maximal amount of family members will be four people, while for vulnerable families – the fee will differ. According to Liberali, the law will go into force from June 1, 2013.
