Oil processing volumes grow in Turkmenistan

Since early 2013, the amount of crude oil provided in salable condition reached more than 4.4 million tons in the complex of oil refineries in Turkmenbashi, which is the largest enterprise in the country, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan said on Friday.

"For the last reporting period of this year, the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries processed more than 4,409,000 tons of crude oil, production growth rates rose to 101.9%," the information said. The most significant results were achieved in the production of polypropylene, gasoline, petroleum bitumen. In 2012, this complex processed 6,535,000 tons of raw materials. Turkmenistan plans to bring the oil refining capacity to 15 million tons of oil per year in 2015, and in 2020 – 20 million tons of oil, in 2025 to 22 million tons, in 2030 to 30 million tons. At this stage, the country annually produces about 10 million tons of oil, much of which is processed in local refineries.
