Finance Ministry: Georgia’s foreign debt reaches $4.5 billion

Monday, November 4
The total debt of the Georgian government and Georgia's National Bank is about $ 4.5 billion, Finance Minister of Georgia, Nodar Khaduri said on Maestro TV.

According to him, this year the government has redeemed bonds worth $60 million which led to a reduction of the country's external debt.

"We have also started repayment of a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Next year we plan to direct about 600 million laris ($1=1.66 lari) to foreign debt," Khaduri said.

He also noted that next year the government is planning to attract $400 million on the domestic market for infrastructure projects.
