KazTransGas-Tbilisi to be returned to Kazakh side in late 2014

Tbilisi gas Distribution Company, owned by the Kazakh state KazTransGas-Tbilisi company, will be back under the control of the Kazakh management by the end of 2014, the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Energy of Georgia Kakha Kaladze said in Tbilisi Oct.24.

He said that "a fundamental decision about it has been already made by the Georgian government."

"Now the working groups of the Georgian and Kazakh sides solve technical issues that will be completed before the New Year," he said.

KazTransGas Kazakh state company acquired Tbilgas, the Tbilisi gas distribution company, for $12.5 million in 2006.

In 2009 the public management was introduced there due to arrears in the amount of 80 million lari ($1 = 1.76 lari).

In September, a new special manager of KTG-Tbilisi, Gia Benashvili, was appointed. His privileges are valid until the end of 2014.
