Deadline of survey of interests for construction of refinery in Poti extended

Friday, February 13
The government of Georgia extended the deadline of the survey of interests for construction of oil refinery in Poti for one month, Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili told reporters Feb.11.

He said that the deadline for submission of proposals to participate in the survey of interests is March 10.

The minister said that a number of companies appealed to the ministry with a request to extend the period of the survey of interests.

“It (the construction of a refinery) is quite a complex project, and they (the companies) asked additional time,” said Kvirikashvili.

It was previously reported that the new refinery in Poti would have a minimum capacity of processing at the level of 2 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The first production of the refinery will be released in early 2019. (Trend.az)
