PM says Gazprom issue has expired as there are no strategic negotiations underway

Wednesday, February 10
As Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has declared, the Gazprom issue has expired and there is no basis for continuation of the topic within the framework of the ‘Protect your Liberty’ platform.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili said this to reporters while commenting on the request of holding a meeting on the Gazprom negotiations.

‘I met with many representatives of the NGO sector and have a certain schedule. I don’t know what it refers to. If it refers to the Gazprom issue, I have no basis to continue discussing the topic within the format. I think this issue has expired as there are no strategic negotiations underway. The dialogue with Gazprom referred to the eradication of technical issues and I think political speculations should cease,’ Kvirikashvili said.

According to him, Georgia has strategic relations with Azerbaijan as well as SOCAR, and there is no threat to this relationships. (IPN)
