Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Launch Information Center for Trade with China

Friday, January 26
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia plans to create an information center for trade with China. The chamber president Nino Chikovani told the Commersant radio station that Chinese market is one of the major and rapidly growing markets worldwide.

China ranks third among Georgia’s trade partners in terms of turnover, but ranks fourth in terms of exports, she said.

“Free trade agreement that came into force on January 1, 2018 enables to exempt 94% of Georgian products exported to China from customs tariffs and this is a huge achievement, because tariff tax ranges from 2% to 65%”, Nino Chikovani noted.

Despite preferences, Georgian enterprises and beneficiaries should know exactly what the market demands are. There are many provinces and regions in China, which have their own demands on imports of various goods. Therefore, Georgian entrepreneurs should have due information, Nino Chikovani said. (cbw.ge)
