National Security Council meeting to take place on Tuesday

National Security Council (NSC) Meeting will take place on September 11 at the Presidential Residence of Georgia.

Georgian military forces in 2019, as well as the progress in the country's defense reforms, will be among the discussion topics on Tuesday.

Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Izoria and Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vladimir Chachibaia will attend the meeting and present reposts.

NSC is an advisory body for the President of Georgia dealing with matters of national security.



Body of Georgian citizen found in Turkey

The body of Georgian citizen was found in the town of Kemalpasa in Turkey.

The 28-year-old driver from Batumi was driving from Turkey to Georgia. He disappeared after stopping the vehicle and entering the sea.

The body was taken out of the water by divers.

As stated by the Consulate, the body of Georgian citizen will be transferred to Georgia after the relevant procedures.



Foreign Direct Investment in 2018

The National Statistics Office of Georgia reported that foreign direct investment (FDI) of the second quarter of 2018 amounted to USD 389.2 million, up 9.4 percent from the data of 2017.

The share of FDI by major foreign direct investor countries allocated feature Azerbaijan (20.7 percent), Czech Republic (20.0 percent) and Netherlands (16.8 percent).

According to the preliminary data, investments in the country amounted to approximately 676 million dollars in both quarters of 2018.
