2.2 tons of gold exported from Georgia in 2018

2.2 tons of gold were exported from Georgia in the period of January-September 2018.

According to the information provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the nine months of the current year, gold (unprocessed or semi-processed) was included in the top 10 export products of Georgia.

The country received a total of 56.1 million dollars from 2.2 tons of gold export.

Gold from Georgia was mainly exported to Switzerland ($ 52.4 million); $ 2.5 million worth of gold went to the United Arab Emirates, while $ 1.1 million was received from Turkey.

In 2017, 3 tons of unprocessed or semi-processed gold was exported from Georgia which was worth 71 million dollars.

The top exports of Georgia are Copper Ore ($278M), Other Nuts ($181M), Ferroalloys ($177M), Gold ($163M), etc.



Over 75, 000 with acute disabilities will receive increased allowances

Over 75 000 individuals with acute disabilities (also referred to as Group II) will receive increased social allowances from January 1, 2019, the government of Georgia has reported.

The decision has been announced by Georgian PM Mamuka Bakhtadze after his meeting with the people with acute disabilities yesterday.

From January 1 of the next year will receive monthly 120 GEL instead of 100 GEL.
