The Georgian Interior Ministry has dismissed the accusation of the opposition that police shows zero or a low reaction to the crimes which involve the ruling party supporters.

The information about the inadequate reaction on various crimes on part of law enforcers spread by some media sources and individuals is not true – Natia Mezvrishvili, deputy Minister of Internal Affairs said.

Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated he will guarantee that the November 28 election runoff will be held in a calm and peaceful environment.

“As for the pre-election campaign, I would like to call on everyone, to read the conclusions of the international observers made after the first round. All of them indicate that there was a significant decline in violence. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is doing everything and will do everything to ensure that elections are held in the peaceful, calm and democratic environment”, –Gakharia stated.

The Georgian Dream endorsed presidential candidate Salome Zourabichvili and the opposition candidate Grigol Vashadze will run in the second round.
