The Georgian Civil Service Bureau has checked 448 property declarations of public servants and state officials last year and assessed 379 of them negatively, which means they considered the declarations were filled with certain violations.

31 of the negatively assessed declarations came with minor violations and the individuals behind the declarations received only verbal warnings, while all the others whose declarations were evaluated negatively have been fined.

Only one declaration could include the signs of a criminal offense and the declaration has been sent to law enforcement agencies for investigation. The number of such declarations in 2017 was seven.

The reasons why a declaration may be assessed negatively are the indication of inaccurate sizes of the real estate, undeclared real estate, inaccurate bank accounts, undeclared bank accounts and others.

Part of the state institutions and officials checked:

Georgian parliament- the property declarations of 60 members of parliament and two officials have been checked. 59 of the declarations were assessed negatively. The declaration of one lawmaker and one parliament official were assessed positively.

Court- declaration of 14 judges were checked, seven of them received negative assessments, seven-positive.

Presidential administration- declarations of two officials checked both of them assessed negatively.

The executive government- 104 declarations checked, 76 of them were assessed negatively, 24-positively.

State Security Service- 21 declarations were checked, 16 were assessed negatively and five- positively.
