President Continues Meetings with Government Officials

President Salome Zurabishvili continues meetings with Government officials for the third consecutive day, as part of the newly sworn-in President’s efforts to coordinate her activities with the Cabinet of Ministers.

Zurabishvili held her first meeting with Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze on January 15, followed by separate meetings with Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Education Minister Mikheil Batiashvili, and Regional Development Minister Maia Tskitishvili.

On January 18, Zurabishvili met with Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani, with the two officials discussing the schedule of the President’s upcoming visits, including her first foreign trip to Brussels on January 21-23.

According to the Presidential administration, Zurabishvili will continue meetings with the rest of the cabinet ministers.

Georgian sailor goes missing in Libya

A Georgian sailor, 22-year-old Davit Razmadze, went missing in Libya, two weeks ago, whilst sailing.

According to Tamar Ioseliani, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy, they have received notification of the sailor's disappearance on January 16 and are trying to establish the whereabouts of the missing person together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We are working in every direction; we are using diplomatic channels. A representative of the ship’s owner arrived in Libya today to take appropriate measures," said Tamar Ioseliani.
