President of Georgia to meet with Emmanuel Macron

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili will pay an official visit to France on February 17-19.

According to the president's administration, Zurabishvili will meet with French President, Emmanuel Macron.

Salome Zurabishvili will also hold meetings in France with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Secretary-General and the President of Senate.

"Within the frames of the visit, the president will meet Georgian students and representatives of Georgian diaspora," the president's press speaker reported.

Zurabishvili will give interviews to Le Monde, France 24 and other media outlets.



Georgia has lowest meat consumption in Europe

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Georgia occupies the last position in Europe with meat consumption.

The statistics show the per capita consumption of meat in European countries.

Euronews reported that according to UN 2014 data, the average person consumed 43 kilograms of meat per year globally. In Europe and North America, the average number of meat consumption equals to 80 kilograms per person.

Meat consumption is highest across Spain and Austria (94.04 kg and 90.87 kg).

The lowest rate is recorded in Georgia, where one person consumes an average of 27.89 kilograms per year.

As mentioned in the study, the amount of meat consumption decreases from Western Europe to Eastern Europe.
