29 people arrested for drug trafficking by The Ministry of Internal Affairs

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, 29 persons have been arrested for drug trafficking. According to the agency, the detainees are the members of a group organized by drug dealers.

As the investigation shows, the members of an organized group detained in Phonichala, according to the criminal scheme, were leading the distribution of narcotics as well as selling a considerable amount of narcotics to other drug dealers and received some part of the money from them too.

As reported by the ministry of internal affairs, on the basis of judge's decision, law enforcers have repeatedly carried out controlling purchases of various drugs, including "heroin" and "cocaine" and made a hidden video and audio recordings of the mentioned purchases.

The police also seized a large amount of "heroin" enclosed in dozens of packages, prepared for distribution, as a piece of evidence while searching the automobiles and houses of the accuses. - states the Agency

9 people were accused of drug trafficking were also detained in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Kutaisi International Airport, and Larsi border crossing point.

In case of prosecution approval, the sentence envisages from 8 to 10 years of imprisonment



Mamuka Bakhtadze named as the young global leader

The Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze has been nominated among young global leaders by the World Economic Forum.

People nominated in the Global Young Leaders list annually have the ability to conduct reforms and the potential to improve the situation around the world.

The organization refers to Mamuka Bakhtadze as the organizer of liberal reforms and states that Georgia's Prime Minister wants his country to join the EU and NATO.

"All of them break the boundaries in their sphere as well as in other directions. We have great expectations and know that they have every opportunity to create a new leader's vision and a model of behavior for our future ", - reports the World Economic Forum website.
