Thursday, April 18
The German conductor, composer, and pianist, Uwe Berkemer, along with his spouse Bela Berkemer-Makharadze, will give a concert on April 21 at Conservatoire Grand Hall.

Nina Berkemer (violin and vocal) is invited as a special guest at the concert.

The program features music by Azarashvili, Bach, Berkemer, Brahms, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Piazzola, Vivaldi, etc.

Uwe Berkemer, who was born in 1962, graduated with a degree in piano studies from the British Conservatory of Music and Arts, Frankfurt am Main, in the soloist class of Professor Joachim Volkmann. Simultaneous training in vocal music as well as intensive studies in conducting and composing enabled him at an early age to work as a pianist, singer, conductor, and composer.

Uwe Berkemer is the initiator and art supervisor of the International Music Festival Dietzenbach. In October of 2000, he was appointed First Guest Conductor of the Georgian State Chamber Orchestra, whose artistic director was Liana Isakadze and met her future wife Bela Makharadze.

The Caucasian Chamber Orchestra was established by high-profile musicians in Georgia in 2005, which had successful concerts and tours in various European countries.

In 2017, Berkemer organized a festival, which was hosted by the Royal District Theater, where various young musicians from different countries were invited.

As for Bela Makharadze, she graduated from Tbilisi State Conservatory (Professor Shota Shanidze and Khatuna Tushmalishvili). During her studies at the Conservatoire, she went through a master class in Switzerland, Geneva, with Professor Habib Kayaleh.

Upon completion of the Conservatoire, at the request of Liana Isakadze, she started working in Georgia's Chamber Orchestra and successfully traveled to different countries of the world.

From 2000 to 2005, Bela Makharadze played at the World Chamber Orchestra, and since 2005 she has been involved in charity concerts with the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra.

In April 2018, the couple gave a grand concert at the Tbilisi Conservatory Hall, which was followed by a different concert in regions of Georgia and European countries.
