Quentin Tarantino and his legendary films on the big screen

By Mariam Chanishvili
Thursday, August 1
Quentin Tarantino Marathon will take place on August 3-6.

The event is organized and supported by Amirani Cinema and TBC Status.

The opening of the marathon will feature a legendary film “Pulp Fiction”, which is a 1994 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Ving Rhames, and Uma Thurman, it tells several stories of criminal Los Angeles.

The marathon will continue with “Jackie Brown”, a 1997 American crime thriller film. The crime drama is much quieter compared to the films that preceded and followed it.

“Inglourious Basterds” will be screened on August 5. Quentin Tarantino took the title from the 1974 war film, “The Inglorious Bastards,” by Enzo G. Castellari. Tarantino deliberately misspelled his version to distinguish it from the original and to have greater latitude in remaking the film.

The final movie of the marathon is Kill Bill: Vol.1 / Kill Bill: Vol. 2. According to Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman in the DVD documentary, the idea for doing "Kill Bill" began during the filming of Pulp Fiction (1994).

As reported by Kinoafisha.ge, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" will be available in Georgian cinemas from August 7. The film Hollywood had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2019. It was released theatrically in the United States on July 26, 2019, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
