PM calls on Georgians to visit Khevsureti

Georgian Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze visited Khevsureti and called on the Georgians to visit village Mutso.

Mutso is a small village in Georgia. It is one of the former strongholds of the historical Georgian province of Khevsureti, located on a rocky mountain on the right bank of the Andakistskali River.

“Mutso is the pride of Georgia and the world culture and European civilization,” he said, noting Mutso rescue program, launched in 2016 with the help of the Cartu Foundation, has been a success.

“Mutso was on the verge of destruction a few years ago, and we have begun to rehabilitate him. In 2016, with the help of the Cartu Foundation, we launched Mutso's rescue program, and it has been successful. Moreover, I would like to congratulate you all, as a result of the competition in Europe, Mutso was among the top 16 projects. I would like to ask every citizen of Georgia to get active on the Internet, as Mutso has been nominated for the main prize and this is his success,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the government should do everything to create conditions for the locals in Khevsureti.

"We are already building the road to Arkhoti, this is one of the most complicated terrains. In addition, we have launched an Internet program everywhere, soon the Internet will be everywhere - in the Gudamakari, in the Shatili community, in Mutso, and in the Arkhoti,” he added.

Bakhtadze said soon a Hydro Power Plant will be built in Arkhoti. According to him, the huge economic potential of this part of Georgia is the key to creating the proper infrastructure, where locals can develop their residence houses for tourism.

The PM noted that Cartu Foundation has already restored 16 towers in Mutso.

“It was a five-year program that will end soon, and I would like to invite all Georgians and friends to come to Mutso. This is a unique place, and it is unthinkable to convey this beauty. Here the heart beats differently, it is a matter of pride for the whole Georgia, he said.

He added that Mutso has enormous economic potential, and the government will do its best to develop this place and make it more popular.

Before visiting Mutso, the PM arrived in Arkhoti. This part of Khevsureti is located in the North Caucasus, once connected to Ingush villages local Georgians were a symbol of bravery, honor and unique hospitality.

“It is a beautiful place and is of strategic importance for our country. It is very important for the population here to have all the conditions, to live for four seasons,” the Prime Minister said.
