Gvaramia says Main Channel will start broadcasting on September 9

The former Director-General of Rustavi 2 Nika Gvaramia informed the media about the fact that the “Main Channel” is going to start broadcasting on September 9.

Earlier, he made a statement about the founding of a new TV channel named ‘Mtavari Arkhi’ (Main Channel).

According to Gvaramia, the channel will be aired on Comedy Channel’s frequency and will operate from the Iberia TV Company building until the establishment of their own office.

“We will work with this [Iberia technique] in the future, and when the equity participation negotiations are over, I very much hope that Mr. Zaza Okuashvili will come in and bring the equipment into the statutory capital,” he said.

According to Gvaramia, the main channel already has a guaranteed monthly budget.

As for the content, Comedy Show, News, Nanuka’s Show, a talk show with Eka Kvesitadze and Gvaramia will remain.

The majority of the journalists left Rustavi 2. The Courier has not aired since August 20. On August 26, Paata Salia, the new Director-General of R2, introduced Irakli Imnaishvili as the new head of the news service. Imnaishvili said that despite leaving the channel, Newsroom is not empty and there are about 800 employees on the channel.



Energy-Efficient Technologies for Rural Development

Under the framework of the project “Energy Efficient Technologies for Rural Development,” the regional meeting has been held on August 23, 2019, at Rural Communities Development Agency, vil. Misaktsieli.

The main purpose of the event was to present project goals and objectives to stakeholders. The project is implemented in collaboration with CARE Czech, Cooperatives Fund, Rural Communities Development Agency (RCDA) and Czech Company “Holistic Solution.”

The event was attended by the representatives of state and non-state agencies, representatives of local and international organizations and businesses.

The project supported by Czech-UNDP Partnership for SDGs will develop the Model approach for renewable energy supply and climate-smart agriculture that will be designed and demonstrated by a joint effort of Czech and Georgia expertise in a participative and innovative approach. The introduction of these model approaches in Georgia will support the rural population in meeting the energy requirements through renewable resources and agro production challenges support.

Duration of the project is 10 months (July 2019–April 2020).
