Zonal Hourly Parking to be Launched on Orbeliani Square

Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor, got acquainted with the process of operation of the municipal pavilion in Orbeliani Square, where the zonal hourly parking will be activated in the near future.

According to Kakha Kaladze, besides the local population, free parking in this area will also be provided to persons with disabilities and taxi drivers in their assigned places.

“Zonal hourly parking is a very important project and a novelty for our city. The first pilot project we successfully implemented on Kote Apkhazi and adjacent streets. Because of the novelty, at first we thought that there would be some problems, but we set up information booths and had daily communication with both locals and visitors and the community received this project very positively.

Starting today we will have a similar approach to Orbeliani Square and the adjacent streets - hourly parking will be provided. Parking for locals will, of course, be free. It will also be free for people with disabilities and category A taxi drivers for whom special spaces are allocated. Underground parking will also be provided by citizens here. We want this approach and attitude to spread to other central areas and streets of the city as well,” said Kaladze.

He said that 15-minute parking will be free here as well as on Kote Apkhazi Street, while the cost of 1 hour will be 1 GEL.
