Tbilisi Marathon 2019

With its 4-year history, Tbilisi Marathon has become an international annual event and at the same time a very successful social project, organized by Heidelberg Cement.

It is noteworthy that Tbilisi Marathon was listed as an official member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

Tbilisi Marathon took 2019 place on 29 September, from early morning until noon.

Those who wanted to participate in the course of the 10 km run and the half marathon took part in the event.

30 minutes before the start, World-Class Georgia trainers had a warm-up training for the participants.

The start and finish were traditionally located in the center of Tbilisi at the Shota Rustaveli Avenue just in front of the Classic Gymnasium.

The duration of the run from 09:00 to 12:00 run course was free of traffic. Every single kilometer of the race course was marked.

The 10-km-run and the Half Marathon are officially recognized by the AIMS (International Association of Marathons and Distance Races. Half Marathon Race is organized according to international AIMS standards and features a 21.0975 km distance race, involving two circles of Tbilisi Marathon track plus 1.0975 km overlap. Participation in the 10KM race and the Half Marathon was open to all participants who had reached the age of 16 on race day.

The entertainment program included Pasta Party / Beer / Concert and Award Ceremony.

Children also had an opportunity to participate, with 0.5 km for those aged 6 to 11 years and 1.2 km for children aged 11 to 15 years.

Tbilisi Marathon is a charity sports event. In 2018, 2720 participants took part in the run, their contribution was doubled by Heidelberg Cement and funds were transferred to extraordinary project First Step, which is an organization taking care of and developing the children with special needs.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle is one of the priorities of the event.

Last year, overall 2758 runners from 54 countries and 500 kids participated in 7th Heidelberg Cement Tbilisi Marathon, while 1419 crossed the finish line.
