Adjara Group has purchased the former sanatorium building, built-in 1924 at the resort Abastumani. Within a year and a half, as a result of the reconstruction of this building, the hotel "Rooms Hotel Abastumani" will be opened. Adjara Group intends to invest $ 10 million for the development of this project.

Adjara Group noted that the building will be restored and reconstructed while preserving its original character and paying homage to its legacy. The hotel will focus on health and wellness.

Abastumani is one of those resorts, which are not very known outside of Georgia. It is a place where the Georgians come to heal the lung diseases. Pines and mineral springs are the major natural attractions of the place. Tourists can find sulfur waters and also some other kinds of thermal waters, with an average temperature of around 42C.

The company opened the first hotel "Rooms" in Kazbegi in 2012 – by converting an abandoned Soviet-era sanatorium in the mountainous region into the first Georgian lifestyle brand of Rooms Hotels. In 2014, international recognition of the project helped create a hotel of the same brand in Tbilisi. Until the winter season, a new ski-in ski-out concept hotel Rooms Kokhta will be opened.
