Ivanishvili: ‘Kutaisi and University City will have its Scientific center funded by me and the Cartu Bank’

“Kutaisi and University City will have its own Scientific center which will be funded by me and the Cartu Bank,” said Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of ‘The Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia’ in the interview regarding the Kutaisi International University.

He also said that the scientific center in Tbilisi will be built in the Digomi area.

“Kutaisi University City will have an additional charm with us building a scientific center there. Hadron therapy, an accelerator that is considered a megaproject, in addition to treatment, can be developed by scientists in different fields - mathematicians, physicists, biologists, etc. The least harmful treatment for oncological diseases is radiation to the patient...Adrenaline therapy will be of great benefit to patients. I personally and the Cartu Foundation will continue to fund this and Digomi will be a science center for Tbilisi, Kutaisi and the university city will have its science center where scholars will be able to defend their dissertations,” said Ivanishvili.

The ‘Europian Georgia’s’ Sergi Kapanadze thinks that this is Ivanishvili’s another try to attract electors and it is nothing but playing with his own money before the elections.

“Kutaisi University of Technologies is nothing but a bait before elections and he’s trying to convince people that he is going to launch some projects to Educational system reform in 2020 and if he does this, he will roughly interfere in the educational system," says Kapanadze.
