Zurab Japaridze, the leader of the "concession," came out with the initiative to provide guarantees that in case of a change of government, law enforcement agencies will not be in the hands of the United National Movement.

Japaridze made the statement before the meeting of the leaders of the opposition parties in the office of the Labor Party. As the leader of the "concession" explains, he is already having individual consultations with different opposition parties regarding this initiative.

“Regardless of how one evaluates the past, and it is understandable that people see the past differently, the UNM failed to regain the people's trust that they would no longer use these leverages for evil purposes. That is why, in my opinion, it is important to put in place a pre-guarantee mechanism, which I believe will be trusted by everyone, as well as by other opposition parties that are here, that the people with shotguns will not be in their hands,” said Zurab Japaridze. He continued to say that everything else can be up for discussion, topics like setting up the health system or education system but the leader of “Girchi” thinks that the most important thing is that people are still afraid of law enforcement agencies will end up in the hands of United National Movement.

According to him, the ruling team intimidates the voters with law enforcement agencies and may be in the hands of the "National Movement," so the opposition will take this leverage away from the authorities.

This initiative got a lot of positive feedback from other opposition parties and independent deputies. Eka Beselia, an independent deputy who was previously a part of Georgian Dream, publicly called the idea of ensuring that the power doesn’t end up in the UNM’s hands “interesting” and said that she won’t contribute to the change of the ruling party, Georgian Dream by the United National Movement.
