European Georgia demands the expansion of ‘Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili list’

The opposition party European Georgia stated that the government has not included other persons on the ‘Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili list’ since launching it.

European Georgia’s leader Sergi Kapanadze listed names including persons shown on Giga Otkhozoria murder tape. According to him, the list includes Abkhazian ‘border guard’ Rashid Kanji-Oghli, who was sentenced in his absence but the list does not include the following names to this day: “Kajaia, Tsveiba, Kutoghli, Kvekveskiri, Kortenko and Russian Federation citizens who were included in the murder.”

Kapanadze also noted that the list does not include Russian Federation citizens who were curating Akhalgori and Tskhinvali Military Base and were participating in Archil Tatunashvili’s brutal murder.

The European Georgia also criticized the government for not including the kidnappers illegally detaining peaceful citizens including the infamous case of Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, who was detained and sentenced 1 year and 9 months for illegally crossing the so-called border but was later released from imprisonment.

Kapanadze accuses Georgian Dream of not launching a proper investigation. According to him, this is the embodiment that the list was first launched by the government because of the ‘pressure from society.’

The Government of Georgia sent a resolution to the Parliament in June 2018 for approving the ‘Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili List’ and appropriate measures. The list includes 33 persons convicted or convicted of the murder, abduction, torture and inhumane treatment of Georgian citizens in the occupied territories and concealment of these crimes.
