12 new female members join the Lelo Women's Council

The political union Lelo Georgia has nominated 12 new members of the Women's Council. Among the people who have joined the Women’s Council are, Natalia Ramazashvili; Nino Darashvili; Maya Chichua; Mariam Menabdishvili; Irina Gelantia; Eter Shubitidze; Ketevan Khaindrava; Natia Tabagua; Guyane Martirosian; Manana Bidzashvili; Tamuna Kldiashvili; Maya Khoperia.

According to Lana Galdava, the majoritarian candidate of Isani and one of the leaders of Lelo, the direction of the Women's Council will be to strengthen the role of women in politics and public life.

“Today, we have presented 12 new members of the Lelo Women Council. These are the women who came to the Lelo office on their own and showed their desire to become part of our political party. They are representatives of different social statuses. One of the main goals of Lelo will be to strengthen the role of women in politics and social life in general. We want to empower them financially and socially, so that they can be successful on their own,” said Galdava.

One of the leaders of Lelo, Dea Metreveli, also spoke about the importance of the enlargement of the women’s council. She spoke about the role of women in public life and noted that Lelo attaches great importance to the involvement of women in various endeavors.

Lelo for Georgia is a political party created at the end of 2019 by businessmen Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. The party has attracted a number of prominent political figures, including David Usupashvili's Development Movement, the New Rights Party and Pikria Chikhradze.
