As the world expects a peace deal between the United States and Iran in the coming weeks, media reports the agreement includes reopening of Strait of Hormuz and strict restrictions on a nuclear program.

Reuters reported the peace agreement to be concluded on Sunday, however, later according to updates some doubts over timing of the agreement had been cast by Iranian government officials. The deal is to be signed by Vice President JD Vance and Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf, according to Yahoo news.

The President Donald Trump has clearly expressed reluctance in supporting military escalations that would increase death toll in Iran.

"If we go and bomb ... they'll have nothing left whatsoever," the president claimed. "But you won't have the Strait [of Hormuz] open for months," said the President Trump as cited by Yahoo Finance on June 10.

The diplomatic tension fueled up after Iran had shot down the U.S. helicopter last week. On June 9 the Pentagon statement reported the U.S. military captured an Iranian container ship, which had been sanctioned for smuggling Iranian crude oil to Asia. According to the Associated Press, the oil tanker was sailing between the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz.

The prospects of peace talks were discussed by President Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a telephone conversation on June 13, as reported by Reuters. The peace talks between the United States and Iran has been also supported by Pakistan.

As one of the issues, the peace deal between the U.S. and Iran addresses the dismantling of a nuclear program run by Iran requiring total removal of Iran?s stockpiles of highly enriched uranium.

Iran has been developing its nuclear program for years. In August 2002, Iran's secret Natanz nuclear enrichment facility was revealed. In June next year Britain, France and Germany engaged Iran in nuclear negotiations. In October 2003 Iran suspended uranium enrichment under international pressure.

The war against Iran was announced by the U.S. and Israel on February 28 this year.
