Georgia is set to revive its tea industry, according to Arnold Zhvania, a member of the parliamentary Agrarian Issues Committee.
Tea production was formerly a leading industry in Georgia’s agricultural sector.
However, with plantations turning to marshland and the only ten companies that still operate facing financial difficulty, the Georgian tea industry is in a dire situation.
Economists argue that with the right management, there is no reason why the tea industry cannot be made to flourish once again.
“The time for Georgia tea revival is here,” stated Arnold Zhvania.
