Newly appointed Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze said that Georgian businesses need to capitalize on foreign markets, in a November 23 speech to the United National Movement’s party congress.
Gurgenidze, a successful banker who oversaw the growth of the Bank of Georgia to become the largest bank in the country as CEO and chair of the Supervisory Board, also praised the reform process the administration has implemented, describing it as “absolutely necessary.”
He said that with political stability Georgia’s investment boom would continue, emphasizing the export potential of Georgian companies.
“We will be proud of Georgian business which will enact its export potential on a full scale and will enter neighboring as well as far away markets; this will yield more jobs and more social welfare,” the prime minister stated.
