In the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover came to USD 2.1 billion, according to the country’s state customs committee.
Exports were valued at USD 1.2 billion, and imports at USD 943.3 million. That marks a doubling of exports and a 20 percent rise in imports compared to the same period in 2007, according to the news agency Regnum.
Azerbaijan predominantly exports energy resources, along with some agricultural goods.
More than a quarter of imports were cars.
