The Young Economists’ Association polled businessmen on their views of Georgia’s business environment.

Slightly over a quarter surveyed said that conditions in Georgia are harming businesses, while 61 percent characterized the situation as more or less normal.

Just seven percent described the business environment as positive, according to the newspaper 24 Saati.

The study also looked at the business community’s familiarity with the mercurial economic laws: the country’s tax code was amended about 80 times since 2007, according to the study’s authors.

23 percent of businessmen reportedly did not know which law dictates their tax rates, and 14 percent could not explain which laws regulate domestic business.
