Turkey and Azerbaijan to jointly produce military hardware

Azerbaijan may begin joint production on tanks for the Turkish army, a Turkish official said last week, according to Azerbaijani military information agency Milaz.

“Some of these tanks could be manufactured in Azerbaijan, and some can be produced in Turkey,” the official said, adding that an agreement on the matter may be signed later this month.

He also said that joint projects with Azerbaijan in future could manufacture ships, pilotless aircraft and rifles and that Turkey is collaborating with a number of other countries in the defense industry, including Georgia, Kazakhstan and Poland.
