As Environment Minister Irakli Ghvaladze has stated, Georgia suffered around EURO 0.5 billion losses during the Russian aggression. Huge areas of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park and forests in Ateni Gorge and Kolkheti Valley National Park, to say nothing of Shida Kartli region agricultural areas, were seriously damaged.
In the unique Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park around a thousand hectares of forest were destroyed. Local fauna migrated to different areas. As the Minister explained, a more detailed assessment is now underway.
