The CEO of SOCAR Energy Georgia, Makhir Mamedov, has stated that the company has delayed for one month the construction of new oil facilities in Georgia, citing the recent military operations here.
The facility will cost USD 15 million to construct and should be finished by the end of 2009. It is to be constructed not very far from Tbilisi National Airport. In 2007 the company bought 5 hectares of land for USD 3 million and will build there storage tanks with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes of oil products of various descriptions.
